The Power of Motion Picture

The power of Motion Picture and the influence it has on culture has been studied since it first began 128 years ago.

Like a lover that filled your heart and touched your soul for but a brief moment of time and then was gone, a great film can stir our spirits and remind us of a reason to live, and live fully. It can spark a change not only on our face with a smile or a laugh, but it can remind us of the losses we always somehow feel that we have buried, yet that are still a part of us.

A great film can unleash in us a passion we had before, left undone, or it can unfurl a cascade of tears, reminding us of the death we all shall face, as it shakes us awake from our apathy, imploring us to seize the day. A great film can ignite in us a new flame of passion, burning deep inside our soul, that simply needed to be lit once more.

These are the reasons, and for countless others that words alone cannot explain-that we are filmmakers. This is why Hollywood Sentinel was born, to celebrate the artists we love that give us all–that give the world so much with the gift of their creative spirit.

The film industry known as Hollywood is not perfect. Certainly no one is. But it’s a part of life that touches most everyone in the world, and many times-in great and exceptional ways. For those beautiful moments, we are here. We are laughing, we are crying, and we are applauding, for the greatest filmmakers and stars of our time, and also importantly, for those great creators that came before us that are gone, but never forgotten.
